Poha is a famous breakfast recipe made from flattened or beaten rice. It is rich in iron and carbohydrates while low in calories. The limited oil use, while preparation, makes a perfect snack for weight watchers.
It is a delicious light breakfast choice, easy to prepare and takes only a few minutes to cook. To make it nutritious, add potatoes, boiled peas, carrots and roasted peanuts.
Variations
- Substitute onions with potatoes, you can fry them or boil them and then add them.
- Adding boiled and diced carrots will make the dish colourful and healthy for kids.
Tips
- Do not soak the Poha, always use a sieve, otherwise, Poha will become moist.
- Do not add red chilli powder if you are using green chillies.
- Add lime juice before serving.
